Attending the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association journalism camp opened my eyes to the importance and different aspects of journalism. Hi, my name is Ava Nightingale and this is my senior year. As a third year journalist and Co-Editor-in-Chief I’m excited to continue my writing and communication skills. Lastly, I aspire to a career in publishing.

As new key club members arrive at the mixer on Tuesday, Oct. 8, junior key club secretary Sonja Peterson passes an information pamphlet to sophmore Maria Kaci. Since this is Peterson’s first year on the board it was her first time helping run the event. “It was really great to see all the new members and help them. I’m really looking forward to working with them this year and next year,” Peterson said.

Following her heart lead alumna Samantha Jacques to forging her own path. Jacques works as a weekday morning meteorologist broadcaster for 13 On Your Side in Grand Rapids, Michigan. "I just absolutely fell in love with it," Jacques said. "I went home after my freshman year of college and said to my parents, 'you know what, I'm changing everything.'"
