Senior running back Taylor Kastens fakes the handoff from senior quarterback Jillian Doss and throws off the juniors’ defense. “My favorite part of the game was doing the touchdown dance with Jillian Doss, because the crowd was wild and our team ran down to the end zone and was cheering with us,” Kastens said. The juniors took the win with a final score of 24-12.

The juniors beat the seniors for the first time since 2007, shocking the crowd and also the seniors.

“I just took off running down the line, cutting and weaving, in and out of the defense. My mind was set on reaching the end zone,” junior running back Bella Palazzolo said.

It was this kind of drive and determination that put the junior’s one step ahead in beating the seniors in the girls’ powder puff football game on Oct. 8.

Seniors came out strong in the beginning of the game, with two touchdowns scored by senior quarterback Jillian Doss and senior running back Emily Daniels. Attempting to equal their strength, junior running back Paige Duda scored her first touchdown, cutting the seniors’ lead in half.

After half time, the juniors matched the energy and motivation of the seniors. Duda scored another touchdown and Palazzolo followed with two more. The juniors advanced 24 to 12 and ended the game.
