Many students have many priorities outside of school that they have to focus on like sports and work.

“I care a lot about my school career. It is very important,” sophomore Amanda Beger said. “But I also try to focus on the other important parts of my life like cheer and time for some free time to do some fun things like hang with my friends.”

Balancing school, sports, and social life can get challenging, but Beger tries her hardest to make sure to make space for the rest of her life leisures.

“I get home from cheer so late and school started to get harder and harder,” Beger said. “It can get really hard to motivate myself. I had a point to start feel a little burnt out.”

Beger has felt as if she was burning out at some points of this year, but she has found some ways to help her get through the tough nights of work after a long practice at cheer.

“I would make my parents take away my phone and I would use that time to work as hard as I could,” Beger said. “It felt weird not having my phone with me but I saw lots of improvements and I didn’t complain so much about the long nights at cheer anymore.”

Improvement is very important and Beger really stands out in bouncing back. The low points in Beger’s career only helped her push through it all.

“My work began to slack and it stressed me out immensely so I charged up and worked as hard as I could,” Beger said. “I flew through the rest of this year with energy and I think that everyone needs to see the low points as their motivation.”
