High school never ends

Highschool never ends, especially if you teach at the one you went to.

History teacher, Henry Rehn, not only attended Ike, but now is a teacher here. He teaches a broad study of social studies ranging from government, world history, American history and european history, he can teach them all in AP (advanced placement) too.

“I started as a substitute teacher and then came to Ike when they needed a soccer coach,” Rehn said.

He also teaches a college course on all his classes too. He tends to like high school better because the kids are more interactive and most want to actually learn what he is teaching about.

‘It’s a little different from when I went here because obviously there is different teachers but it’s still the same thing that I remember, good teachers and good students with a couple bad ones thrown in there.”

For the past 26 years Rehn has been in the same class room teaching the same subjects the way he always has been.

“I wouldn’t want to move rooms because it’s just too much work to gather up all my stuff and move.”

Rehn plans to stay at Ike as long as he can,but once in awhile takes time off to take fun trips with his family.

“When I went here there was only two gyms and no walls, so physically is has changed but mentally it never will.”
