Senior Jasdeep Mangat reviews for exams two weeks before.

Midterms are just three weeks away and teachers are starting to advise students to start studying. Counselor Tom Versele has advice on what to do two weeks before, one week before, two days before, and even 24 hours before.

Two weeks before exams:

  • “If a teacher has given out a study guide, work on it and go off the study guide.”
  • Take a look at previous study guides from past tests or the tests themselves.
  • “Break up your studying material into bite size pieces.”
  • “Each day, go over the previous material from the day before and then after go over new material.”

One week before exams:

  • “By this time, you should have your exam reviews.”
  • “If you have reviewed the week before, material should be fresh in your brain.”
  • Remember to review the topics that were studied a week before.

Two days before exams:

  • “Just doing little reviews.”
  • “”By this time, you should know the material if you have been reviewing for the last two weeks.”

24 hours before exams:

  • “Best thing to do is get a good night’s sleep because if you’re not functioning well, it’s going to affect everything you do and also how you think clearly.”
