The Little Mermaid dance auditions

Excited chatter rang throughout the auditorium as many students waited impatiently for the audition process for The Little Mermaid to start.

One by one they got into rows, claiming the stage as they learned the steps to the dance routine, keeping all of their focus on the choreographer as they learned the moves to the song “Human Stuff” step by step.

“5, 6, 7, 8!” they called out as the student body began to move in unison. Once everyone knew the routine, they were given numbers and were dismissed off of the stage where they would then practice for a few minutes on their own time until they were called up for the actual audition.

They were split into groups of six and ran through the routine twice in front of the choreographer, the director and music director. Once their time was up, everybody that was in the auditorium cheered and clapped as the group of six finished the dance. Moving off of the stage and on to the next group.

Some students found the dance to be a bit hard, others thought it was easy as pie. Either way, there were lots of laughs and everyone seemed to be having fun. This year’s musical is guaranteed to be spectacular.
