A different type of chocolate cake

Make this easy and not so time consuming chocolate cake ball recipe

A good chocolate treat will overpower the taste in your mouth with two layers of different types of that chocolate taste.

These chocolate cake balls are rolled up cake dipped in melted chocolate, which end up at the end making a crunchy outside and a smooth soft inside. This leaves taste buds asking for more.

Making the cake balls might turn into a bit of a mess,

after melting the chocolate in a bowl, dipping the balls back and forth between the baking tray and chocolate dipping becomes messy after a few times. 

With holidays approaching very quickly, this recipe could also be a safe way to hand out desserts without having to cut a cake; with someone cutting a cake, they may spread their germs into the cake leading to more spreading of Covid, but this is a self serve dessert. 

These chocolate cake balls rate a four out of five.

RECIPE:

  1. Make a box cake recipe and follow directions on the back of the box then.
  2. Once the mixture is done, pour it into two nine-inch round pans. The box cake recipe should tell you how long to cook your cake.
  3. Take the cake out and let the cake cool for a few hours.
  4. After the cake is done cooling, take the cooled cake and put them into a large bowl. 
  5. Take your cake and crush them up till they are cake crumbs.
  6. Then after they crumble and crush down, pour a can of frosting into the cake crumbles. Mix the frosting and crumbs together, it should look a dense shiny texture.
  7. After the two ingredients are mixed together, take the mixture and roll them into about one and a half inch balls. 
  8. After all the balls are rolled out, let them out into your freezer for a few hours, when done freezing they should come out a bit firmer.
  9. Now take a bag of chocolate chips, pour them into a bowl and melt them until they are no longer chunky. 
  10. After all the chips are melted, dip your balls into chocolate, then put them onto a baking tray.
  11. Lasty, before the chocolate hardens up, put any topping on top, like crushed up candy canes or sprinkles. 
  12. Once all your balls all have chocolate on them and they are cooled they are all ready to enjoy.

INGREDIENTS

  • One chocolate box cake
  • One can of chocolate frosting
  • One bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Any topping you would like to use (sprinkles or candy canes)
