Kicking the ball in the air, senior forward Ben Campbell enjoys a victory against Dakota. “I felt confident in our team because we just beat Dakota and because we played good,” Campbell said. The mens season ended Wednesday, Oct. 28 against Ford.

Under the field lights on Monday, Oct. 19, the mens varsity soccer team won their first district game, which propelled them into post-season play and took their record to 12:3:4.

“It was definitely hard, but we definitely came out when we were needed to,” captain/goalkeeper Marino Moraccini said.

The game against Anchor Bay ended with a one point lead; senior forward Steven Juncaj the only one to score.

With their second win on Wednesday, Oct. 21 against Dakota, Moraccini said Ford is the team to look out for.

“Anchor Bay, they were a tough game, I mean I know they were a division below us, but they definitely didn’t give us a easy win,” Moraccini said. “It was one of those games where if one mistake was made, we could have lost it all.”

The team’s next game is on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. at Fraser High School.
