As a three year starter on the varsity football team and a record holder for linemen, senior defensive end Collin Koscielniak was chosen by the Detroit Free Press as a member of the 2014 high school football All State Dream Team.

“When I found out that I was chosen for this award I couldn’t believe it, but I was really excited and thankful,” Koscielniak said. “It’s an exclusive award and not many people get to experience anything like it.”

The All State Dream Team award is given to 23 high school players in the state of Michigan. Koscielniak received this award by having an outstanding season his senior year. Collin posted 94 tackles and registered three sacks and a forced fumble throughout his season.

“I worked really hard this season because I knew that I was going to be looked up to by so many teammates,” Koscielniak said. “When I received this award it told me that my hard work had finally paid off.”

Collin was not only a three year starter on the varsity football team but he was also named a captain his senior year. According to senior teammate Jake Corey, he was a well deserved captain and always kept the team positive and had them work to their fullest potential.

“Collin is very deserving of this award because he worked hard on the off season and worked even harder when we were in season,” Corey said. “He was a really big part of the team and a great role model, I couldn’t have asked for a better captain.”

Koscielniak hopes to pursue his football career and play the game in college. As of now, he is still looking into colleges, but hopes to decide on one soon.
