No passports just pastries, the Baking Club is hosting an all-around-the-world theme for its second meeting.
“We are bringing in a Nona and she’s making her famous cookies from Italy,” baking club sponsor Michelle deCardenas said.
Baking club is about learning, sharing recipes and meeting new people within the club. Volunteers do all the decorating and setting up. The dues will be $10, members can bring different foods from around the world. This meeting, guests will supply their own food with the intent of being able to feed everyone.
“I don’t really think we have any worries, other than not having enough food to feed everybody,” deCardenas said.
The club’s goal is to grow in numbers every meeting. Anyone who wants to join the club beyond this point are encouraged too, according to junior Katarina Zaborny.
“I think this meeting will bring us more of a community,” Zaborny said. “I also like that I get to talk to more people that maybe I wouldn’t have talked to normally.”
