Throwback Subway Surfers, black-and-white Five Nights at Freddy’s characters and iconic Star Wars characters highlight the Halloween costume contest.
“I dressed up as the Lorax because I remember seeing it in a video and I thought it was the funniest thing ever, so I decided I want to do it,” junior Mia Tohme said.
For participating in the contest, students received cider and donuts in addition to prizes which consisted of gift cards and candy. Students participating fall into different categories based on their costumes. Then, teachers voted on the best costume in specific groups. Senior Paige Westgate organized this event.
“The costume contest brings the community together because it shows that we all are here for one thing and we can all get together to have fun around the school,” Westgate said.
The overall winner of this contest was senior Zavier Myrick. He was dressed up as Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars.
“It was my dad’s costume that he made 20 years ago to cosplay in,” Myrick said. “I was really happy and excited that I was recognized for my costume.”
