Teenage girl’s fashion in the early 2000s dominates 2020 trends
The 2000s never go out of style. The clothing pictured above, including converse, off the shoulder tops, and low-rise skinny jeans, are still seen throughout the halls at Eisenhower. Although they are heavily modernized, these forward fashion statements make comebacks every year because of the monotonous fashion trends from the 2020s.
2000s trends continuously beat 2020s without fail time and time again.
Low rise jeans, juicy couture tracksuits and halter tops made up teenage girls’ closets in the early 2000s. Now, we see many girls of the same age in leggings, sweatshirts and air force ones. Although it’s comfortable, it’s much more bland.
Fashion statements like layered tanks and sequin skirts paired with vibrant makeup and hair were the norm. Teenagers had fun with their style every day.
Nowadays, many teen girls wear sweats and a sweatshirt, paired with vans for a comfortable, lazy go-to look. While this look is sweet and simple, it lacks the excitement fashion used to have.
Many y2k (year 2000) trends return in new and modernized ways. Low rise jeans, yoga pants and converse make a comeback. People realize fashion from the early 2000s seems to be more fashionable and stylish than current fashion standards.
Although 2000s fashion is better and more expressive than 2020s fashion, it’s not flawless. Many trends from the 2000s, such as uggs and dresses paired with jeans, should forever stay in the past. However, 2000s fashion as a whole does surpass 2020s fashion.
In order to keep these previous trends alive, teens can continue to express themselves in ways that may not seem popular nowadays. By dressing in previous fashion trends, people can take old ideas and keep them alive by adding their own twists. Doing so allows for more unique, exciting fashion to be expressed.
Overall, early 2000s girl’s fashion brought bold and interesting incentives 2020 fashion continues to lack. Track suits, baby tees and low-rise pants may not be for everyone, but still are interesting, fun pieces that make 2020s high-rise jeans and north face coats seem uninteresting in comparison. 2000s teenage girl’s fashion allowed for further expression and fun to be held in a stylish way.
