Halloween age gap

Halloween is a time of costumes, candy and trick-or-treating, but adults should leave the trick or treating to the kids.

There’s a point in every holiday where the children or adults get disconnected. With Halloween, the main activity is trick or treating. Although it’s fun, what is the cut off age to stop? Most stop in middle school. However, some continue to trick or treat as teens or even adults — which some find inappropriate.

Halloween is for everyone, but trick or treating is directed towards a younger age. When adults or older kids trick-or-treat it takes away the fun and candy from younger children. Often during Halloween, older kids are rude and push in front of the younger ones while getting candy.

Age 14 is an appropriate stopping point for trick-or-treating. By the age of 14, parties and other activities around the community happen, which teens can enjoy. There are a plethora of activities to do as kids get older. Teenagers often dress-up for school and then use the night to hang out with friends or attend a Halloween party.

Trick or treating is for young kids and early teens, not for adults with a selfish appetite or older teens who can enjoy the holiday in a more age-appropriate way.
