Spring sports start up
As the sports seasons transition from winter to spring, the athletes are concerned about the cold weather conditions and the wet fields.
“We had to have baseball tryouts indoors due to the weather,” senior baseball player Pete Zeimis said. “We are hoping that the weather starts to warm up so we can go out to the field and clean it up a little bit before our games start.”
This past week the weather seemed as if it was warming up but according to The Weather Channel it looks as if the weather is going right back to being cold. Athletes are hoping to see a rise in the temperature so that they can start their seasons off on a positive note.
“Our first game is this week so I am hoping that it warms up,” senior soccer player Sam Dunn said. “It’s always hard to play in cold weather because you have to make sure you keep your body warmed up to reduce the chance of injury.”
