Making lesson plans, coming up with crafts and solving problems, the future educator students help teach the LCCE students.

“I really enjoy being able to help teach the LCCE students,” senior Sherry Wagner said. “It creates new experiences for me and they really like when we get involved with them.”

Not all of the future educator students get to help teach the LCCE students however, it is mostly just the second year students who have been in the program before. The second year students have already spent time in their own classroom learning how to interact and teach students.

“I really wish that I would have taken future educators last year too so I would be a two year student this year,” senior Samantha Droope said.“The two year students always talk about how much fun it is working with the LCCE students and how it’s such a good experience.”

When the future educator students help teach the LCCE students, they are responsible for making lesson plans and working with students in small groups. They are also in charge of coming up with crafts to do with the LCCE students to celebrate holidays and special occasions.

“I am really thankful that I received the opportunity of being able to help the LCCE students,” Wagner said. “I think it advances my teaching skills and gives me a chance to work with actual students.”
