Press-on nails are a great way to save money or help when there isn’t enough time to go to a nail specialist.
At any drugstore, the brand KISS is common press-ons. Their nails’ price ranges from around $9-15. All of the boxes come with 28 nails, glue, a nail file and a cuticle pusher. If applied the right way these nails can last up to two weeks. To apply, size them out, apply glue to the fake nail and real nail, align with the cuticle, then press down gently for five seconds.
KISS nails are very easy and quick to apply and don’t damage the nails when they are taken off. However, since these nails are on the cheaper side, they are more prone to bending. Also, during daily tasks sometimes, they are prone to pop off but it’s always a while after the application which is normal for press-on nails.
Another common brand found at drugstores is L.A. Colors. Prices are anywhere from $5-10. It consists of 30 nails, one nail file and one glue. The application process is the same as KISS except to hold for 10-15 seconds.
L.A. Colors is a very affordable brand but that makes the nails lower quality than others. The paint comes off within a few days of wearing them and can be very easily bent. On the other hand, they are easy to apply and don’t damage the nails either. These work for people needing a cheap and quick option.
On the better-quality side of press-on nails there is the brand, Beetles. The prices range from $15-20, and they can be found on either their website, beetlesgel.com or Amazon. Beetles come in sets of 150 nails with 15 sizes. To put them on, size them, apply glue to the fake nail, gently press down then use a curing lamp for 60-90 seconds. After applying them, a topcoat needs to be added to make them shiny.
These nails do not come off easily because they are sturdy. They also give multiple sets. These nails do take a little bit longer to apply, but it’s worth it in the end knowing that the nails will last 2-3 weeks. They aren’t damaging as long as they are removed the right way, which is to soak them in warm water for 10 minutes and gently lift them off with a cuticle pusher.
Press-on nails save time and money, but the better-quality ones prove it’s worth the money.
