New member mixer

Key club hosts their annual mixer for potential new members

As new key club members arrive at the mixer on Tuesday, Oct. 8, junior key club secretary Sonja Peterson passes an information pamphlet to sophmore Maria Kaci. Since this is Peterson’s first year on the board it was her first time helping run the event. “It was really great to see all the new members and help them. I’m really looking forward to working with them this year and next year,” Peterson said.

Spread kindness like confetti. During the week of April 21, National Honor Society will be hosting a kindness week to promote positivity.
A kinder campus
Both current and future National Honor Society Board members confer in Michelle Wood’s classroom. The NHS board meets in Wood’s room every day during fourth hour to coordinate the group’s various events and opportunities. ”We have our fourth hour lunch period every day, so it gives a good amount of time to maintain the club and make sure everything is still running smoothly,” current senior Vice President Zoey Azar said.
Casting votes
In the 2025 school year, new art classes and changes to current courses will go into effect as the first step in changing the art curriculum. The remaining changes are expected to happen in the next three to four years.
Fresh palette
Two major clubs, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and Key Club unite to create major efforts to collect blood with the Versiti blood center. The upcoming blood drive, taking place at the PAC lobby on March 12th, is advertised earlier than prior occasions in order to achieve the goal of 22 units of blood. “In order to contribute to the blood drive, I set up hours opportunities, for example, if they make a poster about the blood drive they can get an hour,” senior Nashita Aziz said.
Donating blood for a cause
Competing in the event Robot tour seniors Mason Kirsch and Justin Loveday placed ninth in the competition. “This year I am a senior and I know that it is my last year with the team and that I have to make every moment count. It has helped me to put extra effort in and get better at my events,” Kirsch said.
Empowered by science
Newly elected board members for the 2024-2025 term, celebrate at inductions on Thursday, April 23. After school on Tuesday, March 4 elections for the 2025-2026 term will commence.
