Rise and shine with bubbles, pancakes and the sun for the first senior event of the year.
“It [senior sunrise] just gives the kids an opportunity, an event where they have to kind of stop and think about what they want out of this last year,” student council advisor Amber Bronson said.
The sunrise is held on Sept. 6th, Friday at 6:30 a.m. Activities for the sunrise are organized by student council members juniors Willam Polisei and Alaina Leferman. The event includes pancakes and a staff speaker. Chemistry and biology teacher Michael Pearson was chosen by the seniors for his positive relationship with the class of 2025. Additionally, there will be bubbles for seniors to make a wish.
“It’s the first main senior event. So, it needs to get everyone excited for the rest of the year,” Polisei said.
Seeing how fun being part of the organization last year was, Polisei was interested in establishing himself in a bigger role for the 2025 senior sunrise. In taking on this role he found it difficult to estimate required supplies for such a large number of attendees. Even so, each problem was solved, and the student council members are now set to help around the event as it goes on.
“It’s so easy to kind of get caught up in having a great time,” Bronson said. “But not really thinking about what it really means, what relationships you need to create, what risks you need to take in order to make sure that you really make that count.”
