Fashion Magazine Club struts into its first year.
After a year in the making, senior Cody Fields brought his idea for a club to life.
“Cody Fields is our student coordinator; he’s a phenomenal kid,” club sponsor Amy Kirchhoff said. “He’s very talented, driven, passionate and he just convinced me that it would be a great idea–and he’s right.”
The introductory took place in room 133 on Oct. 11. Finalization of future meetings are in the works for now. To get future information students can email club sponsor Kirchhoff using [email protected].
“I hope that they enjoy it and I hope that it’s a confidence builder for other people,” Fields said. “Get them out there, get them less scared to be seen by people.”
Fashion Magazine Club is geared towards students who enjoy art and their work being seen by others around school, with a focus on self-expression.
“It’s a great creative outlet,” Kirchhoff said. “I can’t wait to see how they use a mix of style, art culture and new media.”
Members will take part in crafting multiple magazines throughout the year. Fundraising is how Fields and Kirchhoff plan to raise money to make the magazines. Fields anticipates holding photoshoots using props from drama class and people in and out of school as models.
“I would say that today’s students are very talented when it comes to crafting and creating original artwork,” Kirchhoff said. “They’re able to really draw upon experiences from the virtual world, as well as looking at beauty in the everyday real world.”
