Rocket League releases features
Rocket league makes game free to play with new seasons added
With everything new that’s been released to the game, Rocket League seems like a brand new game, even though it came out in 2015.
Some new features in the game include being free on all platforms, added seasons and cross-platform additions. Let’s dive into details.
The first new feature in the update is that Rocket League is now cross-platform. This means people who play on Xbox One can play with people who play on PS4 or PC or vice versa. The game was bought out by a big gaming company called Epic Games making this possible; by linking a gamer’s Epic Games account to Rocket League, they can add a friend’s Epic Tags and play. Also, party chat is included, which allows a gamer to talk real-time to teammates.
Another new feature added includes the seasons. Each season, there’s something called a “Rocket Pass.” This costs 950 credits ($9.50 in USD) and by completing challenges, they advance further into the pass. The more tiers a gamer advance, the more rewards they will earn. This is a great thing for those looking to up their decal or goal explosion game but don’t want to spend a fortune.
Lastly, perhaps the biggest new features in Rocket League is the game is now free to play. On the first day the game became free in September, the game reached a concurrent player number peak at 146 thousand gamers. This is huge for any budget gamers since they won’t have to pay to play the game. For those who purchased the game before the release date, they get a couple of “legacy” items. Now that Rocket League is free, many more people will have it.
Rocket League’s new feature rates a four out of five.
