        Classmates experience different things before and at the start of school.

        Feature

        Preforming on stage, senior Helen Kangas plays the saxophone with her civic jazz orchestra team. "I feel really happy when we're playing, Especially as a senior we're playing more emotional music," Kangas said.  She has playing jazz for two years.
        Band soloist success
        Editing together memories to end the high school adventure, senior advanced film student senior Lennon Lee and classmates dedicate time to create a senior class video. Students spent the year filming events and final words from seniors to remember the year and share on the last day.

        Senior and co-editor-in-chief of the Eagle's Eye paper. She grew and perfected her skillset in design over her multiple years in journalism and newspaper.
        Publication prizes
        Learning about Orthopedic surgery, senior Alexander Madhloom is testing tools like drills and screws that surgeons use to fix fractured bones. "I want to explore different areas of medicine to see where I truly fit," Madhloom said. At the Perry initiative, they also learned how to do sutures and apply casts on.

        Shelter in place

        This week, I escape from Michigan and go to Lake Wylie Clover, South Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I had the best time leaving for a week and getting out. Down south, everything's so different; there are no worries about the virus, but people are still taking precautions at this time, so we're all safe.
        Quarantine in the south
        I cut up two zucchinis on May 20 to go with dinner that night. My mom asked me to help her with dinner, so I did—chopping up zucchini and mild Italian sausage for us to mix together with red bell pepper, onions, garlic and noodles with a butter sauce. Spoiler: it was delicious!
        Making the most of quarantine: week five
        Cleaning used to feel like a boring chore; but with all this extra time, a deep clean of my room feels fulfilling. I was very bored and unhappy with how my room looked, so I decided to reorganize and clean to satisfy myself and luckily it did.
        Cleaning and Contemplating
        While enjoying the beautiful day on Saturday, I go outside with my sister. We had just gotten a big box of chalk, so we decided to make some cool designs; I did this and put it on the sidewalk, so when people come by they can see it. A day after this, it rained unfortunately so all of our drawings got washed away.
