Easy Summer Plans

Staying home for summer vacation isn’t always fun, so here are a few ways to make the summer fun and memorable.

If one can’t afford to travel far to a tropical beach or lake, just know that there is a great place called Eastwood Beach at Stoney Creek Metropark with a great scenery of nature and a nice pond to swim in. This place is a great place to have a picnic with friends and family, and has a great playground for kids to enjoy.

“I like Stoney Creek because it’s a great family friendly place with so many different fun things to do,” sophomore Olivia Thompson said.

A night in the house can be fun too. Invite a couple of friends over for a spa night or go camping in the backyard.

“For fun summer ideas my friend group normally finds something on the app VSCO that looks interesting and fun to try like sleepovers outside on the trampoline,” Thompson said.

Invite some people over to have a bonfire or go swimming. A night filled with fun doesn’t always have to be somewhere else. People tend to enjoy the comfort of their home better.

“Almost every night in the summer I would have my friends over and have a bonfire,” sophomore Amanda Wolffis said. “We would always have a great time laughing and talking while eating smores.”
