The glowing rock monster path makes for outdoor Halloween decorations.

Halloween: the season of decorating and trick or treating. Decorating your house for Halloween is part of the holiday. When money is short or to try something new, D.I.Y or do it yourself projects can help.

 

Milk Jug ghosts

 

Materials needed:

 

  1. An empty, clean milk jug
  2. A black or colored marker
  3. White holiday lights

 

Step 1: clean the empty milk jug with soap and water and let the milk jug dry.

Step 2: take the black or colored marker and draw a ghost face on one side of the jug.

Step 3: put in the holiday lights and plug into a safe working outdoor outlet.

 

Bed sheet ghosts

 

Materials needed:

 

  1. White bed sheet
  2. Scissors
  3. Black or colored markers
  4. Plastic grocery bags
  5. Yarn or string of any color
  6. Sewing needle

 

Step 1: use the scissors to cut the bed sheet into large even squares.

Step 2: lay out the squares on a flat surface and put two to three plastic grocery bags in the middle.

Step 3: take the edges of the cut sheet and bring them up to the middle so the bags are in the middle creating a type of ball.

Step 4: tie the yarn or string around the base of the ball creating a tail.

Step 5: draw a face on one side of the ball.

Step 6: thread the yarn or string through the needle and poke the needle through the top of the head of the ghost and tie the string into a large loop and hang inside or outside.  

Hanging bat egg cartons

 

Materials needed:

 

  1. An empty egg carton
  2. Scissors  
  3. Black paint and brush
  4. Googly eyes
  5. Craft glue
  6. String, yarn or ribbon

 

Step 1: take the scissors and cut the egg carton diagonally so two egg carton cups are on each side of the middle single one.

Step 2: using the paint brush paint the the egg carton sections black and let dry for about 3 hours.

Step 3: glue two googly eyes onto the middle egg carton cup and let dry.

Step 4: use the scissors to poke two holes or glue the ribbon,or yarn onto the top of the middle egg carton and wait to dry then hang up indoors.  

 

Glowing eyes in the bushes

Materials needed:

 

  1. Scissors
  2. Large Glow Sticks
  3. Black marker
  4. Back paint and brush
  5. Toilet Paper rolls or paper towel rolls

 

Step 1: using the black marker trace out the shapes of the eyes on only one side of the roll, on a paper towel roll you can trace two pairs of eyes but leave a large gap between the two.

Step 2: using the scissors cut out the eyes from the rolls.

Step 3: using the black paint and paint brush paint the tubes completely outside and inside and wait until dry.

Step 4: on Halloween night put the cracked glow sticks inside the tubes and place into bushes.

 

Glowing rock monster path makers

 

Materials needed:

 

  1. Glow in the dark paint
  2. White paint
  3. Small paint brush
  4. Small to medium rocks
  5. Black marker

 

Step 1: take the rocks and wash them in hot water with soap if dirty then let dry.

Step 2: using a clean paint brush, paint the rocks in at least 2 coats of white paint then let dry. Step 3: paint the base color for the rocks and let dry.

Step 4: paint the rocks in any design you choose, things such as eyeballs, skulls, and faces then let dry.

Step 5: take the marker and fill in the pupils of the eyeballs or the design and set up a path to the candy.
