New student council staff were pumped to go house-to-house and collect as many bottles and cans they could to raise money for the class of 2019.

“In the end, all the money that’s raised through all these bottle drives as their years at eisenhower progress, that money goes into a senior account that they use to spend on senior events,” student council advisor Amber Bronson said.

In fact, every year the different graduate classes find ways to earn money on their own time so they can plan events like the senior sunrise and prom. This year, on Oct 15, the sophomores went to collect bottles for money in the Willow Ridge neighborhood.

“It helps us get money on our own and not have everything given to us; makes us work harder,” student council sophomore Emily Theida said,  “we as a whole appreciate all of our hard work and all the people who donated to us.”

Anyone who participated in the drive helped out the students greatly and are appreciated.

“Bottle drives are done once every month,” Bronson said. “or once every couple of months.”
