It’s that time of the year again, when temperatures drop and there’s snow on the ground. This is a time when teenagers must be careful, as the roads are icy, according to Mr. Kment, the auto teacher.

  • Give yourself extra time in the morning.
  • Slow down, it is better to be a few minutes late than to get into an accident.
  • Scrape your windows and warm your car before you head out.
  • Have your battery checked out.
  • Make sure you have washer fluid.
  • Check your tires. If you don’t know how to check them, go to Belle Tire or Discount Tires, and they’ll check for free.

If you’re involved in an accident:

  • Get off the road and stay in the car.
  • If you can’t stay in the car, get way off the side of the road.

Consider these steps to help prevent accidents on the icy roads.
