The season takes a turn for the better for the hockey team, with a new coach, new strategies and overall better teamwork.
“I am excited about the potential this team has. There is enough talent in our locker room to have a very successful year. How much success is up to the players and I am excited to see if they can become the team, I believe they can be,” Head Coach David Erwin said.
Though the team may be experiencing new, difficult and hard obstacles, they push through and ignore the challenges coming across them.
“De La Salle is going to be a hard game, they’re good and have good players, but we’ll win because we have stronger offense, stronger defense a strong goalie and we’re closer as a team,” Hotchkiss said
Ever since the beginning of this hockey season, Erwin came into play when the team needed him most. He recruited players before the start of the season, adding new sophomores and juniors. The team has taken time to learn about how to play together as a team through communication skills and learning new strategies Erwin is bringing in.
“The biggest adjustment is the new coaching staff. We have very good coaches that will stress that players focus on the details and work hard every time they hit the ice,” Erwin said.
