Parking spots pass confusion

Good attendance and a fee of about $35 will earn a student a parking pass.

“All seniors are qualified to buy parking passes. It’s our feeling that it’s the seniors right to drive so they get the first crack at the parking spots and then whatever is left over we open up to the juniors,” associate principal Scott May said.

There are 550 student parking spots, about 669 seniors which leaves no spots for students who meet the necessary requirements.

“People have different circumstances than others and sometimes with those circumstances, it can affect your attendance,” junior Rocco Sacino said.

Students have the choice to ride the bus or ride with friends or even drive themselves if they have good attendance.

“It makes it easier to have a parking pass because you don’t have to worry about taking the bus to school,” senior Nicolette Monacelli said.

With jobs, sports and other activities, students find it useful to be able to drive to and from school, even though attending school every day possible may be hard to achieve.

“Even though it’s hard to get perfect attendance, I do think it’s worth getting a parking pass. It’s easier to get around especially when you have a sport after school,” junior Nick Cvetanovski said. “Underclassmen should try to get on time and have good attendance as much as they can if they want a parking pass.”
