Senior actors Tommy Randazzo, Kaitlyn Meyers and Kaitlyn Cody practice their scene “Sad and Glad.” “I’m excited for everyone to see the different emotions we can display,” Randazzo said. Opening night was Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.

Almost, Maine: where almost nothing happens, except for one winter night full of love and heartbreak for nine couples.

“The great thing about having a show made up of multiple scenes and not just one story, is that you can have multiple messages brought across,” senior actor Griffin Sheridan said.

The fall play “Almost, Maine” shakes up the drama department with a play comprised of nine different stories, each about a different relationship in one city: Almost, Maine. The show will run Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.

“It’s a play that’s got a lot of heart,” theater teacher David Springer said. “There’s little sentimental things throughout some of the stories, but I think people are going to enjoy looking at the characters on stage and experiencing what they are.”

The actors display a wide range of emotion throughout the show. And with many emotions there are many messages to take away.

“The whole show is based off the fact that even in a small town, you can find somebody special in your life,” junior actor Conor Rajan said.

Rajan and junior actor Brooke Coleman’s scene is about a couple who has been together for 11 years. She demands he give her back the love she gave him, but the aftermath is not what she expects.

According to the cast, the show is comedic overall, especially sophomore actor David Bullock’s scene “They Fell.”

“My scene is funny and I think when it is performed everyone is going to find out why I did it,” Bullock said.

Bullock and senior actor Brandon Vagi’s scene involves two best friends. By the end of the scene, one proclaims his love for the other and things fall from there.

“[Our fellow students] will probably be like, ‘I’m glad I paid money to go see that,” senior Dylan Parker said.

Tickets will be sold during all lunches Nov. 16-20th at the door; $6 for students and $8 for adults. They are also available at www.showtix4u.com.
