Jon Kotas, Staff Writer

Hi, I’m Jon. I’m a sophomore and 15 years old. This is my first year as a staff writer, and I’m excited about it. I find joy in lacrosse, fitness and hanging out with friends. My favorite season is summer, its so fun to chill on the beach or on a boat in the warm weather. I also enjoy the wintertime, too. My birthday and Christmas are during the winter and I can also be found skiing with friends . Another thing I enjoy is traveling. Me and my family don’t always have the time to travel, so we only go somewhere every other year. This makes it that much more valuable and enjoyable. We’ve gone so many cool places. I look forward to my year in Journalism.

Pictured above are spanish teacher Monica Klesko’s sugar skulls. Because sugar is so abundant in Mexico, the sugar skulls are the perfect way for families, both rich and poor, to celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
