Energies are high, the game is getting tense and the raffle for the long-awaiting gift basket is about to be called.
“It’s to raise money for the senior all-night party (SANP),” one of the chairs of the SANP committee, Carolyn Rouse said. “[Senior All Night Party] has been around for at least 30 plus years, so it’s just a tradition that’s been going on with Ike for many years.”
The fundraiser will take place at One Eyed Jacks on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. the SANP committee encourages all seniors to attend. However, there is concern that there won’t be enough seniors.
“We are hoping to get some students signed up,” Rouse said. “I don’t think we have any students signed up so far.”
The idea for the fundraiser came from the parents of seniors. The money raised will go towards the gifts and entertainment included in the event.
“Actually, the parents suggested it, ” Rouse said. “The money we raised will go to purchase prizes or raffle items or bring in additional entertainment.”
SANP gives seniors another high school experience they won’t have again.
“I probably would [go],” Vansant said. “I think it’s important because it’s our last year.”
