Senior founder Angelina Eleas wants students at school to follow their passion through the new Passion Project Club.
“I think that since the club has so many different people that are working on their own projects, you get to see how different everyone is,” Eleas said. “When someone is passionate about something, they will do whatever it takes to work on it.”
During the month of November, the club meets every Thursday after school in the Electronic Collaboration Classroom (ECC). Students come together to express their passions that aren’t offered at school. This gives students a chance to explore new opportunities within their interests.
“There weren’t any classes I could take to help me out with it [business], so I just wanted to see how I can get more involved in the community,” Eleas said.
Eleas believes everyone should present their interests to our community. Her passion for business drives her to encourage students to follow their dreams, even if there are no obvious opportunities anywhere else.
“The most important aspect is the community of all the people in it and how encouraging they are,” senior Madison Belisle said.
Students can create passion projects to show others what their interests are and why they’re interested in specific topics. They present their projects in the ECC at the end of the year to spread their passion around the club.
“I would say it’s definitely a great opportunity, especially if you haven’t applied to colleges yet or there are still colleges that you want to apply for during regular admission,” Eleas said. “If you are truly interested in something, there shouldn’t be any reason that you don’t present it to your community.”
