Key Club: Kids Against Hunger

While children around the world are starving, childhood obesity has more than doubled in America the past 30 years, according to Centers for disease control and Prevention (CDC).

Key Club is bringing Kids Against Hunger, a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to “end the tragedy of starving children,” to Eisenhower.

“I think it would open eyes to others to help the community because it opened my eyes when I attended the event last Spring,” Key Club President Emma Densmore said. “I want people to have the same experience I had.”

The event is from 10:30 a.m. -2 p.m. on March 8 in the Commons (lunchroom). The ultimate goal is to package 10,000 meals or more.

“It made me realize how many people are really in need,” Densmore said. “People really do not know who is in need until you actually go and help the community.”
