Future in nails

Senior Christian Sinishtaj and his group “Sound of the Çifteli” after their performance on Nov. 28, for Albanian Independence Day. The group traveled and performed together throughout Michigan, often in front of hundreds or even thousands of people. “It’s a great feeling, being able to perform with my friends and share our culture,” Sinishtaj said.

Traditional tunes

Many students struggle finding books that align with their interests, making reading a chore instead of a hobby. It is important to not give up the search for the right book. “I think the key to getting reluctant readers to read is to get to know what interests them and help them find a good book,” B.Ed. and master's in social work Pamela Demmon said. “There is nothing like the feeling of getting lost in a story you love but sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right fit.”

Revive reading relevance

Watching the puck, senior Wyatt Saunders focuses on not making mistakes. “In a game like that you’re going out there with a lot of determination because we’re going to be seeing these guys all summer,” said Saunders. The score was 2-0.

Rolling into success

In the auto shop, senior Blaise Serate works on his truck. Despite only being a teenager, Serate does all modifications and fixes himself with the occasional help from his teacher Jeffrey Kment. “I’ve always really liked cars and trucks so as I got older that interest stuck and here we are now,” Serate said.

Rollin’ up

Looking for wrist control, senior Elijah Halbert gains on his opponent. “I started wrestling because I was interested in MMA and it teaches me life skills,” Halbert said. He has wrestled for three years.

Illness, injury and adaptation

After their exhilarating win, the Varsity hockey team crowds together with their regional trophy. The team beat Romeo 2-0 Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Slap shot success

Senior Isaac Ammori and his family are at Lambeau field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to watch the Lions take on the Packers on Sunday, Nov. 3. This was Ammori’s first time at Lambeau field and one of ten games he plans to go to this season. “It was an exciting game because I've never been to Lambeau Field, and my dad's always wanted to go since he was a little kid,” Ammori said.

Weston Szudarek and other graduates huddle up together watching the introductions. With nerves taking over they stand there and acknowledge the event that's happening. "I was nervous, it was my first year of hockey but the seniors helped me through it and calmed me down." said Szudarek

Season of Redemption

Preparing for the upcoming season, Eisenhower and Utica High School’s bowling teams merge to bolster their numbers. The bowlers are joined by new head coach John Mazza as well as Taran Heersma and Mark Harden. "Both programs were very good last year, and we're basically taking a mix of the best of both programs and putting it into one team," Mazza said.
