Choir seniors have final concert

The curtain has come to a close for choir seniors.

The choir performed their last concert of the year on Tuesday, May 21st. For seniors, this was their last concert of their high school career.

“It’s crazy it’s already over and we’re moving on,”  senior Gabrielle  Lewandowski said, “It’s sad, but also exciting to end one chapter of my life and start a new one.”

The theme for the spring concert was “An Evening on Broadway.” Each of the four choirs sang songs from different musical. Treble Choir sang “Wicked,” Eagle Voices sang “Dear Evan Hansen,” Women’s Choir sang “Dream Girls” and Show Choir sang “In the Heights.”

“It was pretty emotional because you’re not sad about having it happen, you’re sad that it did happen,”  senior Jourdyn Stovall said.

Per tradition, the seniors all came together to sing the senior goodbye song “Now and Forever.”  Apart from tradition, Show Choir and Eagle Voices wore street clothes instead of the mandatory dresses and tuxedos.

“It’s always bittersweet because I’m so proud of them, but it’s also sad because a lot of them I’ve taught for six years and I love them like they’re my children,” vocal teacher Julia Holt said, “I’m really proud of how much they’ve grown.”
