Healthy meal alternatives
Zucchini Spaghetti squash:
What’s needed:
Zucchini squash (use three)
Tomato paste
Garlic
Olive oil
Salt
pepper
Garlic powder
To prepare the spaghetti, use a vegetable peeler to peel each zucchini in a bowl. Prepare the sauce by placing olive oil in a pan and cut up garlic. Let it sit in the pan on high heat for about five minutes. When the garlic starts to turn brown, pour two cans of tomato paste in and mix with the garlic and olive oil. Keep on high heat for 20 minutes until it thickens.
Veggie skewers:
What’s needed:
Olive oil
Salt
pepper
Onion
Carrots
broccoli
mushrooms
sweet red peppers
Metal or wood skewers
It’s super easy to make veggie skewers. First, set the oven to 400 degrees; then, cut up the raw vegetables and place them on the metal skewers. To keep them from drying out and losing flavor, drizzle olive oil add garlic powder, salt and pepper for flavor. Bake for 30 minutes for nice, golden vegetables.
Giaourti me Meli:
What’s needed:
Plain Greek yogurt
Oranges
Honey
Cinnamon
This mouth watering dessert is healthy and more refreshing than ice cream. Giaourti me Meli is a Greek dessert that is simple to duplicate. Start with cutting the oranges and place them on a dish. Spread yogurt in the middle of the plate and top it with honey and cinnamon.
Fruit smoothie:
What’s needed:
Half a mango
5 strawberries
1 banana
Handful of pineapple chunks
1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
1 cup ice
To make a great smoothie, here’s what you need to do. First, add all fruit into a blender with a cup of ice and puree until smooth. Pour mix into a cup and sprinkle with granola.
