Homecoming, a night to remember

It’s annoying when people tell you you don’t need a date. Having a date is fun and it can lead to a new relationship.

When people hear you don’t have a date he or she is so quick to give you reasons why it’s okay not to have one. If you want a date HAVE A DATE, and don’t feel guilty about it.

When I googled the word homecoming I was shocked at the number of anti-date pages. Magazines, websites and graphics encouraging people that it is better without a date, but I disagree.

Having a date makes the night more fun and can cut the awkwardness of going in a large group. Going with a date can also possibly lead to a relationship.

Having your crush ask you to the dance can be exhilarating. The possibility of a new relationship puts pressure on the night, sure, but it also makes the night more exciting and hopeful.

It’s cute to match your date. Matching your date makes pictures more memorable, for you and your parents. The corsage is a nice touch also.

Lastly no one wants to suddenly have to go to the bathroom during the slow dance because they don’t have a partner.

You don’t need a date to have fun but having a date makes the night that much better. Having a date is just one more part that could make the night more fun.
