Book club reads to kindergarten class

Book club members traveled to Roberts Elementary to share their love for books with a group of kindergarten students on Tuesday, May 24.

“It was wonderful to see the high schoolers so excited to share their enjoyment of reading with the young students and it was also great to see how eager the kindergarteners were to show their newly learned reading ability,” book club sponsor Holly Kralik said.

The club members also donated approximately 33 books to the kindergarten classes at the school, encouraging the students to keep practicing their skill.

“Students were eager to have the opportunity to share their lifetime passion for reading and were even more excited to read some of their favorite childhood stories to the Roberts kindergarteners,” book club adviser Paula Stiff said.

Although this was the first time visiting an elementary school, the club is looking forward to visiting again in the future, according to Kralik.

“It was a lot of fun. The kindergarteners had a lot of fun and the high schoolers had a great time,” Kralik said. “ I have no problem going to other elementary schools, but Roberts was great so we’d love to return there as well,”
