Choir excels at MSVMA festival
Show choir traveled to the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) district festival at Stoney Creek high school on Mar 17 and brought home an award for each of the two pieces performed.
“We won districts,” junior Zach Brock said. “We got an ‘excellent’ with superior distinction, which is the best score able to be received.”
They performed Mozart’s ‘Lacrimosa’ and ‘Peze Kafe’ by Sten Kallman. Brock and the show choir worked on each piece for approximately two months before the district festival.
“Our hard work definitely paid off,” Brock said. “I felt really motivated along with the other performers. We are really thankful to have a wonderful director such as Mrs. Holt.”
The show choir will travel to the upcoming state festival in Marysville.
