“Into the Woods” auditions
The spring musical auditions for “Into the Woods” are Dec. 12, 15, and 16 open to all students. “I am really excited to do this play for the spring musical because it is very interesting to watch as an audience member and I think students will like to get involved,” Drama advisor David Springer said. The Dec. 12 audition is strictly a dance audition held in the PAC. Students must be prepared with a combination of 8 counts of 8 in a lyrical style dance. Students wishing to be considered for another role will take priority over the dance chorus. “This year I think I will try out for the dance chorus because I love lyrical and I want to be apart of the school’s theater program,” senior Kayla Miller said. Auditions are held in the vocal room and a sign up sheets on the door to pick which day you want to try out for. If a student is serious about getting a named role in the show, plan on singing a song from the show. “I have been in all of the plays since I’ve been a sophomore and its so much fun,” Senior Katy Stickley said. “I love to sing and the plays have helped enhance my voice and stage experience.” Call backs will be posted Wednesday morning. Springer may need to hear more from students who auditioned in every area and will contact students to see him. Here students may be asked to do unrehearsed reads or improvisations at the call back audition. “We are so excited to get started and hope anyone who is into theater comes out to be apart of a great show and family,” Springer said. “There is a place for everyone to participate so I hope many people get involved.”
