No agendas

With the start of the 2014-2015 school year there were many changes including the cut of agendas that were previously given to students.

“We found that kids were not using them,” Principal Nanette Chesney said “People would lose them all the time and would leave them laying around and didn’t care if they got them back.”

Eisenhower is not the first school in the district to make this change.  Stevenson and Ford High School have also made the cut for the same reason.

“Most teenagers are using their phones and putting stuff right into their calendars.” Chesney said.

The agendas werent just for daily planning, but they also had a section for hallway and bathroom passes which is causing confusion within the classrooms.  The Woodshop teacher Mr.DeCardenas and his classes are working to make wooden passes for all of the teachers.  Teachers are substituting the agenda passes by having students take an item from their classroom or writing a pass out on a piece of paper until the wooden passes are made.

“I was surprised when I got to registration and we didn’t get any agendas because I’ve used one since seventh grade,” Senior Vanessa Vuljaj said “I heard the office had some extra ones so I went down and they gave me one.”
