Ike ranks among nation’s best

Eisenhower High School

After sending a survey out to 1200 of the nation’s top public schools, the Daily Beast ranked Eisenhower as a top school. “It’s great that our school is considered one of the top in the country,” senior Danielle Linska said.

In an article released by the Daily Beast, Ike was ranked number 349 in a competition amongst the top 1200 public schools in the nation.

“When I came here, my goal was to help Eisenhower become the number one high school in the state of Michigan, so being ranked nationally is pretty impressive,” Principal Nanette Chesney said.

Scoring was based on four-year cohort  graduation rate, college acceptance rate, rigor/college preparedness, and college-entrance exams.

The three other UCS high schools were also ranked. Ike leads the list, followed by Utica at 372, Ford at 410, and Stevenson at 425.

“I think it’s cool that we were ranked,” senior Nikki Ognanovich said, “attending a top high school is an amazing opportunity.”
