UCS board recognizes students
Dozens of UCS students gathered at the IRC building on Monday, May 12, to be recognized for their outstanding accomplishments.
“The board called our names one by one and each member gave a short speech congratulating us,” senior Varsity dancer Taylor Law said.
During the board meeting academic scholars, Ike’s Varsity dance team, Lego Robotics, and Skills USA had been acknowledged. Seniors with a 3.67 GPA or higher were honored as “Ike’s Brightest”, along with Varsity dance for taking home the title as National Champions. All UCS groups had achieved beyond expectations.
“I never thought I’d be honored by the board of Utica Community Schools,” senior Jamie Svisco said. “It feels great to know that my hard work and dedication during high school paid off.”
