After endless hours of practice and hard work, sophomore Emily Allen recently tied the high jump record in track at the meet against Romeo. The current high jump record was 5’4″.

   “I have put a lot of work in to this, having to stay after practice longer than most people to get more practice in,” Allen said “I also did work in the off season too such as going to indoor meets and I’m just so glad that all my hard work has finally paid off.”

This is her second year on the varsity track team, and she will be competing at regionals May 16 at Warren Mott High School.

“Although I only tied the record I was very excited when I did,” Allen said. “Hopefully by the end of the year I will break it.”
