This week, kindness comes with good vibes and prizes.
“Our goal is to spread more kindness throughout the school. As NHS people, one of our pillars is character. I feel like we could implement that through this and just encourage people with kindness,” senior NHS parliamentarian Isabella Gjokaj said.
Kindness week starts the week of April 21. Each day will have a different spirit theme and activities to spread kindness around the school. Every fourth hour class will submit how many students participated in the theme with the winning class earning a cupcake party.
“Kindness is a global thing. It’s important to promote kindness throughout the world, be a good human being and be kind to everybody,” NHS coordinator Michelle Wood said.
On the Thursday, April 24 of kindness week they will have an event called “Name That Tune.” During the beginning of all hours except fourth, a song will be played. The first class to correctly email the song and artist to the office will win a special prize.
“I think it’s important because especially being in high school, I feel like we should be kind to everyone on a daily basis,” Gjokaj said. “I think it’s important to implement that throughout the week and just dedicate the whole week to it.”
