The class of 2027 attended the College Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 24 run by the Student Council.
“The purpose of the fair that we put on was pretty much to get kids interested in going to apply to any job after high school career choices such as going to college, trade school, the army or cosmetology school,” senior event founder Mya Tomaszewski said.
The sophomore class was educated about the college application process and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) program. They were introduced through collaborative activities, like playing an interactive game of Kahoot and designing T-shirts of the college of their choice.
“I think it was really successful. It was the first time we ever did it, but I feel like for the first time, it went really well. We had a good turnout, and I feel like the kids got a lot out of it,” Tomaszewski said.
Students also spoke to college students from local universities and were able to ask questions about college life and the differences it can make for them.
“They were really nice, and they gave me a lot of input on applying to college,” sophomore Reagan Kado said, “I enjoyed getting to meet all of them,”
