The Drama Club Turns Thanksgiving into Thes-giving.
“It gives us a chance to all sit together and come with camaraderie, be thankful for all that we have and all that we do, and even to the people around us. Too many times, people take everybody for granted and chance to be thankful for everybody,” Head of the Thespians club, Eric Wells said.
On Nov. 18 The Thespians Committee and Wells created a thanksgiving celebration for the drama club. The goal was to bring food and give thanks to friends in the club while building a strong form of comradery with people after the first of their two main shows of the year.
“The Committee will bring food for everybody to eat, like typical Thanksgiving food. I brought mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. There were sweet potatoes, cinnamon rolls, and chicken. We had all kinds of really good stuff there. Everybody needs to pay, like, 5 to $10 depending on the year. Everybody comes in and they all eat, and we all spend time together. After we’re done eating, we clean up, and then we watch the movie for the musical that we’re about to do,” senior Accountant Kayla Livingston said.
Created in 2022 by the Thespians Committee with the sole goal of getting multiple members of the Thespians club to unite the club. The Cub has 80 members as of 2024 producing shows like Grease, The Wizard of Oz and coming soon Marry Poppins, their plans are to make a show that lasts a legacy is almost as large as their goals to create a community of hard work, progress, and comradery.
“I think the first time we did it was two years ago, and the committee just decided one year that we wanted to do it, and then they did it, “senior Accountant Kayla Livingston said “It was awesome, so we’ve been doing it ever since. It’s a lot of fun and very rewarding. I know people would appreciate going to it.”
