As new clubs start up, the Jesus loves you club, a new club ran by Biology teacher Jennifer Solomon and student leader senior Angelina Garmo.
“I try to be hands off, their the ones that reached out to the church and choose how to run it,” Solomon said.
The Jesus loves you club is ran almost every other Friday and allows new members to join at any time. Students express their religious beliefs and discuss within each other, priests and special guests that come in. Students have the opportunity to talk about their religious views and express their religion through each other. While also sharing a plate of food and having a good time with classmates making connections in ways they didn’t know were possible before.
“We start off with a PowerPoint, and give a talk, we sometimes have special guests, usually priests, we end the meeting with food,” Garmo said.
As the club is new and still has room for more members, meetings take place almost every other Friday in Mrs.Solomon’s class, room 232 after school.
“I think it’s great that they did it (created the club) because I feel like it brings the kids together under one belief,” Solomon said. “It’s wonderful to see all the kids there that have a shared interest in worshiping Jesus.”
