Fall Rally is an annual tradition hosted by different schools around Michigan, but our Key Club is taking the lead on the event this year.
“It’s always at a different school every year, it’s our second time hosting and I feel like I have a little bit of experience, but that only makes me more nervous,” Key Club adviser Linda Craun said.
Key Club will prepare the school for about 350 students. The board had a meeting with other club leaders around the state. Craun and senior club president Ava Skonieczny showed them classroom sizes and discussed design. Key Club started working on designs for the small areas like the registration table.
“I’m thrilled to start on the decorations for the fall rally. Being the head of the decorations committee is an honor because I get to watch everyone’s creative thoughts come to life,” Skonieczny said.
The Club members will set up for the rally the night before and clean up after the event is over. The decoration committee is still planning activities as other club leaders from different schools are focusing on the layout for the occasion. Fall Rally’s theme is agents of service. Members of Key Club are planning to create footprints on the floor to guide newcomers throughout the school.
“We hope that a lot of our students are able to make it because it’s so close,” Craun said.
The event will consist of activities like blanket making, plarning and workshops for club officers. There will also be trivia and “Just Dance.” The club members are excited to host the rally on Saturday, Nov. 16 and hope they get a decent turnout.
“I’m very excited that we are hosting the Fall Rally this year,” Skonieczny said. “Usually, our students have to travel a minimum of three hours to the rally.”
