As colder months approach, the AVID program collected sock donations for the community.
“I donated socks because I wanted to do something good and help people that are in need,” sophomore Mavlyn Moshe said.
Socktober ran from Tuesday, Oct. 8 to Thursday, Oct. 31. The socks are given to a non-profit Christian Organization, Grace Centers of Hope. About 60 pairs of socks were donated.
Posters were hung around school that promoted the cause and students dropped socks off at both rooms 110 and 232A. Adult and children’s socks were appreciated. AVID and Socktober adviser April Stockton ran the event to help out the community and spread kindness.
“It’s beneficial to donate to Socktober,” Stockton said. “It’s good to practice community service and do acts of kindness.”
