As the presidential election approaches on Nov. 3, many 18 year olds decide to register to vote for the first time. “I’m really big on politics and stand behind my beliefs and I’m super excited to vote in the presidential election because this will be my first voting experience,” senior Bella Cole said. She registered back in June.

UCS releases the Hybrid Learning fact sheet, answering frequently asked questions for students and parents. “Together, we are ready to take the next step of transitioning to in-person learning,” Interim Superintendent Robert Monroe said in a letter to the community. The hybrid learning system will begin the week of Nov. 9 for high school students.

Principal Jared McEvoy sent posters promoting the yearbook via email to parents. “We offer the best price the earlier in the year that you buy,” publications adviser Erica Kincannon said. Buying a yearbook earlier guarantees students receive one and allows staff to plan out pages.

The pandemic still lingers, but Michigan movie theaters open on Oct. 9 with new safety procedures in place. Movie goers must wear masks and social distance. “I’d feel safe going [to movie theaters] if everyone else abides by the rules,” junior Christina Gasiewski said.
